The term: “Digital Mockup” is used in various ways. “To some people it simply means loading two geometries into the same scene. For KISTERS 3DViewStation, it can represent several things. First: it may mean, loading 3D CAD data from various sources (or different CAD systems) into the same scene—without the need for pre-translating it into a common file format,” says Kelly Baumann, KISTERS North America Business Development Manager.
“Second: it means that 3DViewStation provides advanced functionalities to work with this data,” Baumann adds. “Examples may include: navigating to the area of interest and using the boxing or zoning functions to quickly isolate a selection of objects for further processing.
